Each of the horses give a different driving experience.

Saffy is a Norwegian Fjord, a bit of a diva and the lead mare in our herd.  She is very beautiful and knows it. Saffy has been with us since she was a 2 year old and is now 9.  She is cheeky and very lovable.  Saffy enjoys driving and loves to go on long road trips preferably quite fast so she keeps us on our toes. Saffy will stand for ages for visitors to learn to harness and loves the attention.

Herbie is a gypsy cob.  He is an absolute treasure, very willing and steady.  He offers a lot of confidence to our learner drivers to start on.  Herbie loves his job too and really enjoys long road trips with the 4 wheel carriage.  He equally enjoys taking learners around our track system.

Breeze joined our herd early in July this year.  He is a cremello gypsy cob with a mane to die for.  Breeze was already driving when he came here but was not quite as fit as our other horses.  Breeze has a lovely gentle nature and can be seen here, shortly after he arrived being long lined around our track system getting used to the idea of driving around the track for our taster driving days.  Breeze also enjoys the work and makes visitors work a little harder to keep him going.  Happily goes on road trips with the 4 wheel carriage.  His fitness is gradually building with regular drives out so should be tip top for next years workshops.

All 3 of our driving horses give a very different driving experience and we feel that is valuable for clients who come on our taster days or driving activity holidays to experience the difference.  Our taster driving days are very popular, action packed and weather permitting a drive through the pond which is always fun for visitors.  Taster day groups are limited to a maximum of 6 people.

For those that wish to go further we offer 3 day driving experiences with or without accommodation and 5 day driving activity holidays, again with or without accommodation.  We only take a maximum of 2 people on these activities.

Twister is a piebald gypsy cob and has been living with us at Horse Haven Uk for many years.  Twister had not been handled when he came here and was living out in a mixed herd. He has since been trained for riding and is currently in training to drive.  He has a lovely peaceful nature and we are quite sure he will become an excellent driver, looking every bit the part as a traditional cob.  Hopefully Twister will join our driving team for next years workshops.

Otto is a hanovarian x cob, he is a riding horse and a valuable participant in our Equine Facilitated Learning days.

Leon is a gypsy cob and is a riding horse.  Leon has a very sensitive nature and although he has superb conformation for driving does not have quite the right temperament.  He is an amazing therapy horse.

Oisin was abandoned as a very young foal.  We took him in and despite the vet thinking he wouldn’t make it he has come on really well.  It’s been a long journey to get him well but he has a fighting spirit and a beautiful nature. Still very young but loves his life with the herd.  A very treasured little man.

All our horses are willing, happy participants in our Equine Facilitated Learning workshops.

All our horses are barefoot, do lots of road work and live on a track system with varying terrain.  Their hooves are checked and trimmed regularly and they all have healthy feet.
