Equine Facilitated Learning Accredited Diploma Course. We are so pleased to be able to offer this training course here at Horse Haven Uk.
The course has been written by myself, Suzannah. I have been working on it for well over 12 months and it has come about from our experiences and pleasure of working with EFL clients here.
It has now been approved and accredited by the “Institute for Animal Care Education”. I have chosen this organisation as we feel the care of the horses is the primary concern for this type of work.
The training will be held at Horse Haven Uk in Somerset , near Glastonbury and will run over 5 days.
Accommodation can be offered for 2 sharing in a mobile home and a list of local accommodation will be sent to anyone wishing to attend.
The training will involve classroom work, requirements for setting up your business and of course care of the therapy horse. You will learn to set up a variety of courses and create the right environment for your clients in order that they get maximum benefits from their experience with the horses. There will also be lots of practical, hands on experience with our therapy horses.
There will be tests throughout the course and the final 2 days will be spent doing case studies which we provide from volunteers being invited to join us. You will be assessed on the results of the tests and performance with case studies which, if successful in the assessments will result in receiving a diploma from Horse Haven Uk, followed by a diploma from the Institute for Animal Care Education. This will enable you to obtain insurance for your future business.
In the unlikely event that any student doesn’t meet the final requirements they will be offered the opportunity to come back for 1 or 2 days to work on the areas that didn’t quite meet the standard of assessment.
Your tutors will be myself, Suzannah Leighton and Dean Dibble. Helen Williams will also join us on some of the practical work.
Suzannah is a qualified Hypnotherapist and Master Practitioner of NLP (neuro linguistic programming) with over 20 years experience and also has certificates in EFL and advanced EFT.
Dean is an equine behaviourist, trainer, coach and holds a diploma in EFL.
Helen is an experienced horse handler, care worker and has a diploma in EFL.
There will be ongoing support for anyone that has successfully completed the course and you will have access to both Suzannah and Dean by email and telephone. We are always at hand to help with any enquiries or issues that may arise for you.
If you already hold a relevant therapy qualification and can demonstrate this to us, you will, on successful completion of the training receive 2 diplomas from HHUK, one for Equine Facilitated Therapy and one for Equine Facilitated Learning. Without a relevant therapy qualification your diploma will be Equine Facilitated Learning, again, on successful completion of the training and in both instances this will be followed up with a certificate from “The Institute for Animal Care Education”.
Groups will be small in order that everyone gets optimum support during the 5 days. A minimum group number of 4 is required in order to get a good flow when working with the horses.
If you have a group that might be interested in doing this training together dates can be arranged to suit.
The cost of the 5 day training will be £850 and a non-refundable deposit of £250 is required on booking. The remaining balance to be paid before commencement of the course.
Dates are yet to be arranged but if you are interested in attending please contact Suzannah by email firstname.lastname@example.org to express your interest.
