At Horse Haven Uk we offer an in depth, practical, 5day EFL diploma training.
Due to the practical nature of our training previous students have left with the confidence to utilise the skills learned.
Suzannah developed the course as a result of seeing many positive outcomes with clients from EFL taster days.
The diploma is accredited by the Institute of Animal Care Education.
The training is also approved and accredited with CPD (Continuing Professional Development)
5 days training held at Horse Haven Uk in Somerset , near Glastonbury.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN ON THE EFL DIPLOMA?
The training involves classroom work, requirements for setting up your business, selection, training and care of the therapy horse. We also cover effective ways to market your business.
YOU will learn to set up a variety of courses for specific needs in order to create the right environment for your future clients ensuring they get greatest benefits from their experience with the horses.
As a result of the practical, hands on experience with our therapy horses by the end of the week you will be confident in your ability to do the work yourselves.
Assessments are carried out throughout the training, although we aim to make it fun. Day 5 is your final assessment when you work in pairs with case studies which we provide.
Case studies are volunteers that come along to experience the benefits of EFL and give you valuable feedback.
If successful in the assessments you will receive a diploma from Horse Haven Uk, followed by a further diploma from the Institute for Animal Care Education.
The HHUK diploma will enable YOU to get insurance for your future business at a reduced rate.
WHY ARE WE DIFFERENT?
On receipt of your diploma you will be added to Horse Haven Uk EFL Group.
This is a private facebook group for facilitators to share ideas and offer support to each other.
We are a happy, friendly family and will always stay that way. All newly qualified facilitators are welcomed into the group by other members. Support and advice is available on an ongoing basis.
In the unlikely event that any student doesn’t meet the final requirements, they will be offered an opportunity to come back for 2 days mentoring to work on the areas that didn’t quite meet the standard of assessment.
A list of local accommodation will be sent to anyone wishing to attend.
Your tutor is Suzannah Leighton. The support team may vary but all team members are qualified EFL Facilitators and experienced horse handlers.
Suzannah is a qualified Hypnotherapist/Teacher of Hypnotherapy, Mindfulness Coach, Certified Kinetic Shift Practitioner and Master Practitioner of NLP (neuro linguistic programming) with over 20 years experience as a therapist. She also has certificates in EFL and advanced EFT.
Ongoing support is available for anyone that has successfully completed the course and you will have access to Suzannah by email and telephone. We are always available to help with any enquiries or issues that may arise for you.
Groups will be small in order that everyone gets optimum support during the 5 days.
The cost of the 5 day training is £1,020.00 and a non-refundable deposit of £250 is required on booking. The remaining balance to be paid 3 weeks before commencement of the course.
We strive to ensure that successful candidates, having achieved the diploma will be confident and competent to go out and deliver the goods after this training.

Well! What can I say about this place? I went on an EFL course taking all of my baggage with me, trust me I have a lot!! I was greeted with so much love and support from both human and equine that I came away a very different person indeed. I cannot praise them enough and cannot recommend them highly enough either! The horses are amazingly happy and relaxed, always ready to help the needy and sometimes when the needy don’t even know they are needy!! I am not a people person but I would happily spend the rest of my life in the company of the Horsehaven crew because there is absolutely no judgement or pressure, when I was ready, they were waiting with kindness and love. I will be going back!!
Beautifully trained horses and professional tutors.
Lots of individual attention and plenty of practical assessments. Treated to a scrummy lunch everyday. I have taken many skills away with me and can now have the confidence to apply them. Well recommended.

I have attended several courses at Horse Haven Uk. Among others: ‘Mindfulness with Horses’ and ‘Equine Facilitated Learning’. The courses are well run and the owners and staff are knowledgeable and empathic. The therapy horses are in excellent condition and enjoy their work. The setting is gorgeous and time itself appears to slow down.

EFL Diploma course
I highly recommend Horse Haven Uk having been on several workshops and recently completing the EFL Diploma course. Suzannah and Dean are extremely knowledgeable and go out of their way to ensure that clients have a worthwhile experience.
I’m lucky to live close by and it is a place that always grounds me and draws me back again.
The lunches are fantastic and the horses are well looked after and extremely happy in their environment.
