Who would like to join us for Imbolc at Horse Haven Uk to welcome the Springtime. Sunday January 31st on the Somerset Levels. Imbolc is celebrated February 1st to 2nd but 31st January is the closest weekend date so will celebrate it then. In the Pagan Calendar Imbolc is a time for sowing seeds of intention for the year ahead, letting go of past issues and welcoming the coming of Spring.
A time when the snowdrops show their lovely heads and the seeds of life are quickening beneath the ground. We can sow seeds of intentions , make Bridie dolls (Bridie being the Maiden Goddess of Spring). Each stitch represents a wish or a goal. We can also walk the labyrinth as a moving meditation and set our intentions in the centre. We will light a fire to leave the old behind and honour the wonders that are coming our way. A great time to manifest.
IMBOLC 2021
Imbolc at Horse Haven Uk to welcome the Springtime will start at 11am and run till 4.30pm
We will do a short meditation, some exercises to get rid of unwanted behaviours that have held us back and set some goals and positive intentions for the year ahead.
It is tradition at Imbolc to make a Bridie doll. This is very simple and can be decorated however you wish. Each stitch is a goal and intention for the year. The Bridie doll is kept, then buried in the earth the following year.
We will walk a small labyrinth as a moving meditation contemplating our goals as we walk and manifesting them at the centre.
We will also plant some seeds in pots to take away.
As it is a fire festival in the pagan year so we will have a firepit.
There has been quite a bit of interest and I am sure it will be a lovely day.
It will take place in our workshop space where we have a cosy log burner and part of it will be outdoors.
I will provide a hot vegetarian lunch and materials for making the Bridie dolls.
We are asking for a donation of £30 for Horse Haven Uk.
Hope you join us for a celebration.
